The Eternal Fantasy
Website: cs1.betterbox.net:3330/
Telnet: cs1.betterbox.net:3333
Admin Email: cmdrkeen2@aol.com
Date Opened: July 1995 Codebase type: LP
Description:
The Eternal Fantasy is a MUD based on the popular game series 'Final
Fantasy' by Squaresoft. The MUD offers players a growing list of races,
including Human, Elf, Moogle, Half-Elf, Half-Lunar, Kelban and Dwarf. Also,
players can alternate between over 60 classes -- including knights, paladins,
ninjas, assassins, archmagi, thief, and treasure hunters -- through a system
borrowed from Final Fantasy Tactics. This allows players to select both a
primary class and a secondary class, combining the abilities of both. Four of
Squaresoft's most popular games (Final Fantasy 1, Final Fantasy 4, Final
Fantasy 5 and Final Fantasy 6) are combined in an already large and constantly
growing network of worlds. Players and espers (wizards) are newbie-friendly,
quests are plentiful, and there is much to be discovered. Players are welcome
to submit ideas, as well as contribute in world wide quests run by the
administration. For the avid Final Fantasy fan, or just one looking for a MUD
to play, this game is definately something to consider playing.
Strife and Magic
Website: ironfist.home.texas.net/strife
Telnet: strife.betterbox.net:4100
Admin Email: strife@bb14.betterbox.net
Date Opened: August 7th 2001 Codebase type: CircleMud 3.0 bpl 18
Description:
Strife Mud is loosely based on the Forgotten Realms setting. Characters
are able to advance through 100 mortal levels and 100 remort levels. Remorts
start from scratch, but with a much more powerful set of skills. Role playing
is encouraged, but not required.
Spell casting is based on a memorization system instead of the usual
mana system. Classes include: arcanists, clerics, rogues, warriors, rangers,
paladins, druids, bards, vampires, barbarians, and remort classes: monks,
psionicists, and chosen. Races include humans, elves, dwarves, half-elves,
gnomes, illithids, giants, drow, halflings, and minotaurs.
Various forgotten realms deities (from the time of Netheril) are available for
worship, and determine which spells clerics receive.
Strife is in beta at this time, so a lot of things may appear incomplete...
suggestions are always welcome.

Feudal Realms

Admin Email: etanos_the_ancient@hotmail.com
Date Opened: June 1995 Codebase type: Feudal 0.9.6
Description:
Welcome to Kirganthis and the city of Stonegate, a jewel
of a city in the central plains, a city that was once left
for dead after a decade long war against all of Goblinkind.
Rebuilt stronger and better than its predecessor, the city
stands as a monument to the alliance which turned the war
in favor of the humans, elves, dwarves, and other races who
held the walls and battlements.
Inside the walls are found the Academie of Magic, where
centuries old research of the arcane is conducted, shops of
all sorts, both mundane and useful, the temple to the old,
and sometimes forgotten, Ancients who once roamed the world
unchecked and unchallenged, not to mention the people of
the town themselves.
Breathe in the history, revel in the scenery and people,
live another life different from your own. Every day more
and more of the continent is discovered, more people are
met, and a few more lives are taken, some accidentally and
some quite by purpose. the city is for the most part safe,
but once one steps outside the massive gates, all is left
completely to chance.

Website: obsessions.betterbox.net
Telnet: obsessions.betterbox.net 4500
Admin Email: ann@obsessions.betterbox.net
Date Opened: April 1, 2001 Codebase type: TinyMUX
Description:
Obsessions is a free adult role playing and social game, where the ultimate level
of enjoyment and satisfaction is possible, a relaxed atmosphere that focuses on
socializing and role play in all its forms rather than a rigid set of standards.
People who come here for an adult sex game will find plenty of others with similar
interests, but those who are interested in more than just that will also find what
they want here. Unlike regular virtual sex games, we include other forms of role
play and activities to participate in. The staff is made up of players who've tried
enough other games to know that a game like this is needed, where players are
encouraged to explore that which lies deep within them without fear of harassment
because of them. Players are encouraged to help the game to evolve. The
opportunity to build and learn basic tinyMUX game coding is available to anyone
interested.
